Camp Lynda

St George is a great place to ride in the winter, well unless it is raining. Binge training is one of my fav things to do. I wanna share both, hence Camp Lynda. Come down to the desert and ride yourself silly for a few days. Go home so tired you can't think straight. Sound good? You're in?

It will be self supported, no waivers and no fee. I'll post a gpx file of the route and longer route options for the truly manic. You can ride with or solo. Dave is even talking about previewing part of his top secret Trans Utah (St George to Moab) route at the camp.

I'm polling for ideas here?

  1. Date - what works for you?
  2. Format - 3 or 4 days?
  3. Other ideas?

This is what St George looks like in January. Ya might need a vest and arm warmers and if you are a desert bunny you will need tights and booties.

Early January. Thinking the time surrounding Saturday January 5th. Unlikely I could swing more than 3 days but don't use that as a reason not to make it 4. I'm bounded by vacation days so I may be able to swing 4, maybe not. If not that early then just not during the weekend of Dave Byers race, January 19th.

TransUtah route preview? Tasty :)

I am up for 3 days. January would work best for me, cause once Feb hits....Ergon related things get going. Maybe one of the first 2 weeks of Jan?

What are you thinking about accommodations? Camping, hotels, crash at Lynda's or Dave's (I heard him mention that he has lot's of room!).

Three or four days are both fine for me.

Will you be willing to take last minute commitments? I have a very sick pooch who somewhat limits my ability to sign on for sure right now.

I'll try real hard to swing whatever, the earlier notice the better. I'd vote for the 3rd or 4th through the 6th, cuz I have that off already.

As for riding, whatever. I'll put my faith in your masochistic mind.

(Dave, I'm very clean and always smell like roses.)

I vote for the Jan 4th thru the 6th as well! What a perfect way to kick off the New Year!

How about Jan 12 - 14th?

I get back from Scotland on Dec 31st and don't think I can turn jet lag into a binge training camp in a few days.

Itty,

Yep, hop on board at the last minute. Everything will be self supported so you can go 5 star or camp - whatever your whim desires.

I just realized that I'm free from dec 15th to Jan 5th. If things work out in that timeframe, I could well be up for a sunny getaway!

For those of us that work in the education sector - the earlier the better in January on that one! The students are out then. Sounds awesome!

I can do it in Jan, but have a CA training camp the 18th-25th... but don't hold on for me.

I could do 3 days in the sun...
