Mojo

An object as an amulet or charm that is believed to carry a magic spell

Personal magnetism; charm

Mojo waxes and wanes. It can take a long time to build up and disappear in a flash. I've completed the Kokopelli Trail three times now and each time returned home with my mojo bag full.

Mike Curiak took this photo of me just after dawn last year during the race. When I started riding the trainer back in March after my accident this is one of the photos I put up on the wall beside the trainer and maybe the one my eyes settled on most often. This photo has bueno mojo for me. It makes me smile and gives me the feeling inside I had during the race last year - joy. I sure love to ride my bike. I love to ride it in beautiful places. I love to ride thru dawn. I love to ride for a long time. This photo says all of that to me.

I think some people were born as natural mojo producers. Wesley is one of them. It doesn't matter what he is doing, where he is or who he is with. He instantly makes friends and starts playing - the game don't matter. It is a true natural talent. If you have met Wesley you know this already.

Mojo can be given and taken, found and lost. Welcome back into this world to Steve who got his mojo back this week after a long absence. It is nice to have you back honey. Real nice.

Here are a few mojo tokens that will be travelling the length of the Kokopelli Trail with me this week. The tire boot came along last year too. It was given to me by a friend who has a ton of mojo. It's not any old piece of tire - it has the World Champion stripes on...

Sunday morning is shaping up to be a big breakfast gathering in Moab. Venue and time TBD but come along if you want to spend a few hours talking about nuthin' but bikes and hearing mega KTR stories. The only sure thing about KTR is Sunday morning stories. Call me or hunt me down. The plan has me finishing at Slickrock at 3:50pm on Saturday.

How exact! :) I like the mojo. Marni and I will track ya down for breakfast with the gang. War stories and food, is anything better the day after some epic riding? I'll be in blue/yellow/white kit now but the red knee warmers are still in session.
